1. Who operates Shelf
Shelf is provided under the Meloideas brand by an individual developer based in Taiwan. Meloideas is the brand name used for Shelf, not a separate corporation described by this Policy. For privacy questions, contact hello.meloideas@gmail.com.
2. Scope and geographic coverage
This Policy applies to the Shelf iOS app and to support or privacy requests that you send to us because you use Shelf. Shelf is intended to be available in at least Taiwan and the United States. It provides a global baseline and describes additional rights that may apply under the law where you live; availability in these markets does not mean every US state privacy law applies.
Apple, RevenueCat, Google, and other providers may process information under their own policies and legal obligations when they support an enabled Shelf feature.
3. Product data stored on your device
Shelf lets you create and edit product records that may include product name, brand, category, purchase price and date, lifecycle and expiry dates, status, notes, product photos, processed photo stickers, and Project Pan or completion records. The current release stores this product content in local SwiftData storage on your device.
Shelf does not require a Shelf account, login, or Shelf-operated backend account database. Adding, editing, or viewing a product does not by itself send your local product database to us. iCloud and CloudKit product sync are not active in the current release.
4. Photos and local app state
When you choose a photo or use the camera, Shelf processes the image on your device for product display and photo-sticker features. The image and its processed data are stored with the product record in the local app database. No Shelf-owned server upload is enabled for product photos in the current release.
Shelf also stores on-device settings and app state needed to operate the app, such as onboarding completion, layout and currency preferences, notification choices, PRO entitlement cache, rewarded-slot state, and local App Tracking Transparency flow state. These settings do not create an online account or user profile.
5. Product calculations and analytics screens
Shelf calculates and displays information such as days owned, daily cost, remaining value, total value, Today's Glow Rate, category and cost summaries, Project Pan progress, and the Annual Project Pan Report from the product data on your device. These calculations are primarily performed on-device. Shelf does not send your product names, photos, prices, notes, or other local product records to us merely because it displays these calculations.
6. Notifications
If you enable expiry reminders, Shelf requests iOS notification permission and schedules reminders locally for the dates you record. Shelf does not use a remote push system for these expiry reminders. You can change or disable notification permission in iOS settings.
When you delete a product, its record and image data are removed from Shelf's local database. Notifications are managed by iOS's local notification system and do not create a Shelf server copy.
7. Purchases and Apple
If you purchase Shelf PRO or another in-app purchase, the transaction is handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. Apple may process your Apple Account, payment method, transaction, subscription, device, and App Store information under Apple's own terms and Privacy Policy. Shelf does not receive your full payment card number.
Shelf may receive the transaction or entitlement information needed to confirm a purchase, restore an eligible purchase, and provide the features you bought. Apple controls Apple Account billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund decisions.
8. RevenueCat
Shelf uses RevenueCat to verify in-app purchases and the Shelf PRO entitlement. Shelf does not have its own login system and does not send a user-entered Shelf email address to RevenueCat. In the current implementation, Shelf does not provide a custom App User ID, so the RevenueCat SDK creates a random anonymous App User ID for purchase and entitlement state.
RevenueCat may process information needed for purchase services, such as the anonymous App User ID, device or system information, Apple purchase records or receipts, purchase and subscription records, entitlement status, and related service interactions. Shelf does not configure RevenueCat email, name, or other Customer Attributes in the current implementation.
RevenueCat handles information on behalf of its app customers under its applicable policies and agreements. For a request involving information processed by RevenueCat for Shelf, contact us first at hello.meloideas@gmail.com.
9. Advertising, consent, and tracking choices
Some Shelf releases may show advertising to Free users where advertising is enabled. Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) may process information needed to serve ads and manage consent, such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad and app interactions, performance information, and diagnostics. Ads are requested only after the entitlement state is resolved as Free and the consent flow permits the request.
If an advertising behavior is considered tracking under Apple's rules, Shelf may use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) to ask for permission. Your choices can affect whether ads are requested or personalized. Declining ATT does not remove features you have already purchased. PRO users should receive the ad-free experience only while the PRO entitlement is active.
Shelf does not use product names, product photos, purchase prices, or product notes stored in your local database to create an advertising profile. Actual ad formats and personalization depend on the release configuration, your location, and your choices.
10. CSV export
Shelf PRO includes CSV export. When you start an export, Shelf creates a temporary shareable file from local product data. The export includes selected text, dates, prices, statuses, daily-cost values, expiry dates, and notes; it does not include product images.
Shelf does not automatically upload the file to us. You choose whether to save it to Files or cloud storage, send it to another app, or share it with another person or service. Copies outside Shelf are controlled by the destination or recipient, and Shelf cannot delete them.
11. Information you send to support
If you email hello.meloideas@gmail.com for support, a bug report, feedback, a complaint, or a privacy request, we receive your email address, message, and any screenshots or attachments you choose to include. We use that information to respond, investigate an issue, provide support, or handle your request. Please send only what is needed and avoid product photos or other sensitive information unless necessary.
12. How information is used and shared
Depending on the feature you use, we or the providers working on our behalf may process information to provide and maintain Shelf, store and display local records, remember settings, calculate product summaries, schedule notifications, verify or restore purchases, provide support, protect the service, manage enabled advertising and consent choices, and comply with law.
- Apple provides App Store, StoreKit, payment, subscription, and platform services
- RevenueCat processes purchase and entitlement information for Shelf PRO
- Google processes information for enabled advertising and consent services
- Your chosen services receive CSV or other content only when you choose to share it
We do not sell the product records or photos stored in your local Shelf database. We may disclose information we actually hold when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or another person's rights.
13. Retention, deletion, and export copies
Product records, photos, and related local data remain on your device until you delete them in Shelf, remove the app, or iOS removes the app's storage. Deleting a product removes its record and stored image data from the Shelf local database. Some app settings and state may remain on the device to preserve app behavior and preferences.
Shelf cannot delete CSV files or other copies that you save or share outside the app. Apple, RevenueCat, Google, email providers, hosting providers, and other services retain information under their own policies and applicable law; this Policy does not promise a fixed vendor retention period.
For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help, email hello.meloideas@gmail.com. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate a request, and some records may need to be retained where legally required.
14. International processing
Shelf's core product data is primarily stored on your device. When you use Apple App Store, RevenueCat, Google, or an enabled third-party service, related information may be processed outside your country or region, including in the United States, under the provider's policies and applicable safeguards.
15. Taiwan and United States rights
Rights depend on your location, the applicable law, and whether the information is held by us or by a provider. Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, rights may include inquiry or review, copies, correction, stopping collection or processing, and erasure, subject to applicable exceptions.
Where a US state privacy law applies, rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, certain opt-out choices, and appeal of a privacy-request decision. Not every state law applies to every user or practice. Contact hello.meloideas@gmail.com and identify your country or state so we can route the request.
16. Children
Shelf is a general-audience product and personal-care inventory tool, not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data in violation of applicable law, and we do not intentionally collect data from users below the applicable legal age. If you believe a child’s information was handled improperly, contact hello.meloideas@gmail.com.
17. Security
Shelf relies on local storage and iOS device protections for core product data, and photo-sticker processing occurs on-device. We use reasonable safeguards for information we or our providers process, but no device, software, network transmission, or third-party service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, Apple Account, and any data you export or share.
18. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when Shelf's features, data practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The published page will show the effective date and last-updated date. If a change materially affects privacy rights or use of personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where applicable law requires it.
